Philosophy
Any family who needs their children cared for in a safe and fun environment, can access OHSC. The service has Child Care Benefit Assistance available to families who may be eligible. CCB is a Government assistance to families who access child care services. I would advise all families to apply to Centrelink for their Child Benefit Number. It’s free, and in case of emergency should you have to use the centre, your information will be on file.
Our aims are to provide quality care and recreation for prep and primary school aged children in a safe, supervised environment.
A range of activities are offered each day to meet the needs of the children in attendance. Time and opportunity is allocated each day to allow students to do homework. Afternoon tea of sandwiches and fruit is also provided for the children.
Further information may be obtained from the OHSC Room in the Hall any afternoon from 2pm or by ringing Rebecca on 3282 9071.

This Centre is committed to providing a quality service where -
  • The children's physical, emotional and social needs are met in a safe, caring and supportive environment.
  • Programs are designed to cater to the children's age, skill, interests and abilities through a variety of challenging and recreational activities.
  • Children, parents and staff are treated with respect and their individual uniqueness is acknowledged and valued.
  • The Centre encourages parental and community participation. It welcomes open discussion on all issues relevant to the Centre's operation.
Belief
We have a wide range of activities to enable the social processes and interactions to happen. These are:

  • Arts and Crafts - activities that encourage the development of such areas as painting, clay work, drawing, and various construction activities.
  • Sports - as we have access to the school oval, sport plays a major part in After School Care. We emphasize a non-competitive environment that is safe and fun. We have an extensive range of sports equipment that is available for use every day.
  • Homework Club. We offer the chance for children to do their homework every day. We have a staff member to supervise them at all times and assist when needed. We also reward effort.
  • Play equipment - We have access to the playground equipment for all children.
Hours of Operation
The hours of operation of the Centre currently are-:
  • Before School Care - 6.30 am - 9.00 am
  • After School Care - 3.00 pm - 6.00pm
  • Vacation Care - 6.30 am - 6.00pm
Fees
After School Care - $17 per day
Before School Care - $13 per day
Vacation Care - $50 per day
On the days in which we go on excursions (to the movies etc), there is a surcharge to cover admission, bus hire etc.
Casual enrolment - for irregular attendance.

NOTE:
It is essential to ring the coordinator at least one day in advance, to let us know your child is attending. This is to prepare our resources adequately. There are times when we will have a full enrolment for a particular day. In this case, we will not be able to take any casual enrolment. If your child turns up without your contacting us, and arranging a casual enrolment, and we are full, then our only option is that we ring you to come and collect your child. We simply cannot risk the wellbeing of our enrolled children.
If your child does not know to come to After School Care for a casual attendance, it is not our responsibility to chase them up. Please ring the school (07) 3432 6333 and arrange for the administration staff to tell the child to come. We do not have time to chase up children who are not expecting to come down.
